At Lamb Agency for Marine and Bonds, Inc. the most important product we offer is service.Since opening its doors in mid-1990, L.A.M.B. has provided cargo insurance and customs bonds on literally thousands of international shipments. The agency has insured everything from skeletal remains of dinosaurs to multi-million dollar oil drilling rigs, as well as the very important day-to-day shipment of general commodities. We are also proud of the fact that we regularly work with some of the world's largest freight forwarders in the placement of cargo programs for international project business. The Lamb Agency for Marine and Bonds, Inc. is headquartered in Galveston, Texas. The Galveston Seaport was founded in 1836 and is the oldest port in Texas. After opening, the Seaport grew to become a center for world commerce. At one time the business district in Galveston was even known as "The Wall Street of the Southwest". Galveston was known internationally as the world's largest cotton port and retained that title into the 1970's when the economic advantage of intermodal transport to the East and West Coasts changed the face of cotton shipments. The Galveston Seaport remains a port-of-call for cotton, wheat, fruit, heavy equipment and containerized general commodities. More recently, Galveston has developed into Texas' #1 cruise ship port. Geographically, the Port of Galveston is one of the most well protected and closest ports to international waters in the nation. Robert Lamb is President and founder of Lamb Agency for Marine and Bonds, Inc. Mr. Lamb brings to the agency over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to forming Lamb Agency for Marine and Bonds, Inc., Mr. Lamb was Regional Sales Manager for a small surety company based in Houston, Texas. Mr. Lamb has served with some of the nation's most respected insurance brokers. Most notably, he was with the International Division of Alexander & Alexander (now AON) where he was responsible for the development of international insurance programs for Fortune 100 Companies.
